Thousands of St. Vincent Charity Items Find New Life, Supporting Cleveland’s Neediest

The former St. Vincent Charity Medical Center in Cleveland is undergoing a transformation as it prepares for demolition. Over 10,000 items, including furniture, medical equipment, and supplies, have been repurposed through the efforts of I’m In Ministry (IMIM), a non-profit led by Deacon Lou Primozic. These items have been distributed to local organizations, including shelters, recovery centers, and Mayor Justin Bibb’s “A Home for Every Neighbor” initiative.
“We appreciate working with the Sisters of Charity Health System for allowing us to recover 10,000 furniture items from the site of St. Vincent’s Charity Hospital in Downtown Cleveland. Over the last six months all these items have been repurposed and placed in hundreds of homes across our community to those economically and social disadvantaged. These actions also keep thousands of items from ending up in a landfill. This is truly an example of how together we have made the impossible, possible in Northeast Ohio.” -Deacon Lou Primozic
This effort aligns with the Sisters of Charity’s mission to serve those in need, turning a closure into an opportunity to extend their legacy of care and compassion. Read The Sisters of Charity Health System January 2025 Newsletter.
